‘I’m Not A Firearms Expert’: Biden ATF Director Can’t Define ‘Assault Weapon’ Under Oath

The director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms under the Biden administration admitted under oath that he is “not an firearms expert,” and couldn’t answer basic questions related to the purview of the ATF this week.

“As a gun owner of many different types, and a 20-year military veteran, I have some expertise in weaponry and self-defense weapons,” Rep. Jake Ellzey (R-TX) told ATF director Steve Dettelbach.

“In 15 seconds, would you define an assault weapon for me?” Ellzey asked. “And if you go past 15 seconds I’ll just interrupt you.”

Dettelbach replied, “So, so I’ll go shorter than that because I-I honestly do think that’s a – if Congress was to take that up I think Congress would have to do the work, but we would be there to provide technical assistance.”

“I, unlike you, I’m not a firearms expert to the extent that you may be, but we have people at ATF who can talk about, uh, uh, velocity of firearms, what damage different kinds of firearms cause, so that whatever determination you chose to make would be an informed one,” Dettelbach stammered.

In 2022, Joe Biden yelled about “ghost guns” on the White House lawn, confused the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms with the American Federation of Teachers, and called federally licensed firearms dealers “merchants of death” during a rant against the Second Amendment on Monday.

“You bought a gun, take a look,” Biden barked before shuffling over to a table that appeared to display firearm components next to a sign reading “GHOST GUN” and “Buy-Build-Shoot.”

“Take a look at this, it comes in this package,” Biden continued to yell. “You can see the picture down here maybe. This is the gun. It’s not hard to put together. A little drill, a hand drill at home, doesn’t take very long. Anyone can order it in the mail. Anyone.”

Biden also referred to ATF agents as “AFT agents.”

The American Federation of Teachers is the second largest labor union of teachers in the United States.

“We’re going after rogue gun dealers,” Biden shouted, going on to proclaim that federally licensed firearms dealers are “merchants of death” who are “breaking the law for profit, selling guns that are killing innocent people.”

Simple logical question ? If you are not an expert, why do you have the job of running BATF ? If it isn’t because of your knowledge on firearms ? [ Which to me would be a major requirement for the job] Could it be because of your “Political Leftist Anti Constitutional Reliability to the Democrat Political Anti-gun Agenda ?” A Anti-Constitutional pogrom against the Right of “We The People” To Life, and to Defend that Life ?

Yes, I would say, You hold your job because of “Political Democrat Patronage” not because You uphold your oath to the Constitution.

You are not a firearms expert ? So ? Why do you hold your seat as BATF Director ? It would seem to be a major requirment to know something about Firearms as it is part and parcel of your JOB !

So, since you hold such an ant constitution opinion against a clearly stated Right of “WE The People” I must assume you hold your job by “Political Patronage” rather than, Constitutional knowledge, and practical knowledge of that which you oversee as Director of the BATF, Loyalty to the political unconstitutional agenda of the Democrat Party over Oath of Office which make your first responsibility to “PROTECT AND DEFEND THE CONSTITUTION AGAINST ALL ENEMIES FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC” trying to overturn a Right so clearly enumerated in the Constitution and bill of Rights, Sure sounds like a domestic enemy too me.

AN ASSAULT WEAPON IS ANYTHING – one’s fist, a rock, a knife, a scissors, an automobile, any caliber of rifle or pistol, or anything else – used in unlawfully attacking another person, none of which are otherwise assault weapons.

Take scissors for example – if anything in the list above can be otherwise identified as an assault weapon, then anyone – adult and child alike – who wields a scissors regardless the reason – is guilty and should be charged of owning and using a deadly weapon.

On the other hand, everything in the list above could also be used as a defense weapon against criminals wielding the same in an assault on one’s life.

But until employed in either fashion, they remain simply what they are and nothing more. Anyone who says otherwise is an imbecile or someone with a nefarious agenda.

I guess this doofus missed an opportunity to say that all items used as weapons are used in some form of assault. That includes knives, baseball bats and golf clubs used to assault and injure another person.

Hey you F-ing Idiot every gun made is an assault weapon. And so is a Hammer, a Knife, an Axe, a Car, you can Assault a person with almost anything that will cause bodily harm or death. So quit trying to take the only thing we have that the CONSTITUTION Specifically states we have the RIGHT to own. And our forefathers new we would need them to protect ourselves from a Government who has taken too much power and now wants We the People to be its SLAVES.

Some ATF field agents are great!
Many specialize but most are not experts at anything. They are basically pencil pushers and paper pounders.
Leadership is where the problem is and they have to comply to the whims of POTUS or lose their job.
Of course, we all know there is no such thing as an assault weapon. That term was created by the media for sensationalism and fear mongering.

And what about those licensed automobile dealers? Have you ever witnessed the DEATH and DESTRUCTION that some of these automobiles can wreak? Some weigh in excess of 2000 ponds! They are hurtling down our FEDERALLY FUNDED highways in excess of 60 miles per hour! It’s the SAFE thing to pass a law against ALL automobiles and include a ban on ALL ROADWAYS. They are a DEADLY combination. (I’d better shut up now. Some stupid liberal snowflake will see this and think it’s a good idea.)

So typical of this administration. Putting people in charge of departments that they clearly are unqualified to lead, do a terrible job, lie About their accomplishments or blame the previous administration.
