Jessica Konen, represented by the Center for American Liberty, recently secured a landmark parental rights victory upon reaching a settlement agreement with the Spreckels Union School District in Monterey County.
This resolution was reached over allegations that her 11-year-old daughter Alicia had been socially transitioned without Konen’s consent or knowledge. Fox News Digital reported on this development Tuesday.
Konen filed a lawsuit against Buena Vista Middle School, alleging that school staff told her daughter that she might feel upset because she did not know who she was “truly inside.”
Additionally, Konen alleged that the staff allowed Alicia to use the boys’ bathroom and be addressed by male pronouns. Furthermore, Konen claimed that two seventh-grade teachers kept Alicia’s transition a secret and failed to inform her of her daughter’s suicidal thoughts.
Court papers revealed that Alicia had found remote learning difficult but that there was “a silver lining” when she was “no longer in the clutches” of the school officials who had encouraged her to transition.
“Freed from their influence [Alicia] began to return to her old self,” it noted.
The single mother revealed that the school’s support of her daughter’s social transitioning had initially created tension in their relationship.
However, Konen reported that Alicia has reverted to identifying with her birth sex and both are collaborating to promote parental rights initiatives.
The school district consented to a settlement of $100,000 without accepting any liability.
“If you choose not to fight for your children, then they will fight and take your children,” Konen stated. “Stand up, parents, it’s your right to be able to parent your own children.”
“I think it took a lot of guts for both of us to be able to open up publicly and explain what is happening,” Konen told Fox News Digital. “Parents, be vigilant, you know, pay attention. Those gut feelings you have, they’re real. I feel like this just opened doors.”
The Center for American Liberty said, “At its core, this case is about upholding the sacred bond between parents and their children.”
“Parents have an inherent right to be involved in pivotal decisions concerning their children’s lives,” it added. “We are thrilled to have played a role in this landmark victory, which sends a clear message that parental rights must be respected.”

If all mothers stand up to protect their child from the child abuse of all school districts, school boards, and criminal teachers’ unions, only then will America once again rank first in the world in science, art, and living standards. Who better than parents can decide their children’s future in education & everything else. This is not the job of strangers to decide whats best for ANYTHING to do w parents decisions. Strangers need to keep their noses to themselves & stay out of everyone elses business.
