Ray Epps told the January 6 Committee that he immediately left the U.S. Capitol on January 6 after he texted his nephew seemingly admitting that he “orchestrated” the riot, but new footage broadcast by Tucker Carlson on Fox News casts new doubts on his official story.
New previously suppressed surveillance footage released by Fox News host Tucker Carlson appears to show the suspected federal asset on the grounds of the Capitol roughly 30 minutes later than previously claimed.
“One of the enduring mysteries of January 6 is the role that intelligence and law enforcement agencies played in the events of that day. We know that there was some number of undercover federal agents in the crowd at the Capitol. Officials have since admitted that under oath,” Carlson narrated as video clips of Epps seemingly insitating the protestors and urging people to enter the Capitol building played on the screen.
“But what exactly were they doing there? The January 6 Committee worked hard to hide the answer to that question. We do know from contemporaneous video that a mysterious figure named Ray Epps encouraged the crowd to go into the Capitol. For some reason, Epps has never been indicted for that, but there’s no question that he did it.”

After public pressure concerning the videos of Epps’ behavior before and on Janaury 6, the partisan Committee interviewed him in an ostensible attempt at convincing the public that the man was not working in the capacity of an undercover federal law enforcement asset.
“His text messages show that at 2:12 p.m. he boasted to his nephew that he had ‘orchestrated’ the protest at the Capitol. He admitted that he helped ‘get’ people there. Yet curiously, Congressional Democrats consider Epps an ally, not an insurrectionist. Tonight we can tell you at the very least that Epps lied in his sworn testimony to the January 6 Committee,” Carlson said.
The Fox News host said that Epps informed the committee that he had immediately left the premises after texting his nephew, but security video shows him on Capitol grounds nearly 30 minutes later than he claimed.
“What was Epps doing there? We can’t say. But we do know that he lied to investigators. The January 6 Committee likely knew this too. Democrats had access to the same tape, yet they defended Ray Epps. No honest investigation would do that,” Carlson said.
As concerns over the potential undercover federal sabotage of the January 6 protest continues to mount in light of new security footage, some members of Congress are calling for the release of a list of all “feds” who were there that day.

After viewing Carlson’s January 6 footage on Monday night, Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) called for the full and total release of the footage to the public, along with a “complete catalog” of all “feds” who were secretly present among the election integrity protestors.
“Tell us who they were, let’s watch the videos and let’s see what they did because there’s some really strange behavior on those videos of people behind the police lines in plain clothes like, touching them on the shoulder, talking in their ear, walking around boundaries as if they weren’t even there,” Massie said.
Massie reminded viewers that he had questioned Biden administration Attorney General Merrick Garland about suspected federal asset Ray Epps before the official refused to say if there were any undercover federal law enforcement officers present within the crowd during the protest.

“57 percent of Democrats think that it’s at least somewhat likely that feds, agents of the federal government, were not just there, but were also encouraging people to riot or go into the Capitol,” he added.
45th President Donald Trump issued similar demands from the new GOP-controlled House of Representatives in January, calling for the legislative body led by House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) to reveal the “role of federal agents and informants” in sabotaging the 2021 election integrity protest.
“What was the role of federal agents and informants in pressing the crowd toward the Capitol on January 6, and who is Ray Epps? Tell me about Ray Epps. Where does he come from? I think we know,” the 45th President said.
After viewing Monday night’s episode of “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” the 45th President celebrated the Fox News host for “one of the biggest ‘scoops’ as a reporter in U.S. history” and subsequently called for the prosecution of January 6 Committee members “for their lies and, quite frankly, TREASON!”

“LET THE JANUARY 6 PRISONERS GO. THEY WERE CONVICTED, OR ARE AWAITING TRIAL, BASED ON A GIANT LIE, A RADICAL LEFT CON JOB,” the former president wrote. “THANK YOU TO TUCKER CARLSON AND SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE KEVIN McCARTHY FOR WHAT YOU BOTH HAVE DONE. NEW VIDEO FOOTAGE IS IRREFUTABLE!!!”
“Tucker Carlson a MUST WATCH tonight. Releasing more VIDEO which was ‘HIDDEN BY THE CROOKED J 6 UNSELECT COMMITTEE.’ They should be prosecuted for their lies and, quite frankly, TREASON!” the former president wrote in a separate Truth Social post.
