Vivek Ramaswamy Comments On Donation To Anti-Trump Democrat: “I Had No Idea Who This Individual Was”

During a recent interview with Glenn Beck, GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy appeared to contradict a statement from his Senior Advisor concerning a 2016 donation made to an anti-Trump Democratic candidate. While the Senior Advisor had confirmed the donation as being “purely friendship,” Ramaswamy’s response to Beck was notably different. He acknowledged that he had supported someone who was openly opposed to President Donald Trump.

“In 2016, you not only were against Donald Trump, but you actually made donations to somebody who is virulently anti-Trump,” Beck said.

Ramaswamy swiftly elucidated his position, declaring, “In the year 2016, I was not opposed to Trump. I simply refrained from voting due to my profound disillusionment and mistrust of all politicians. I judged based on outcomes and he proved to be beneficial for the nation; thus, in 2020 I cast my ballot with satisfaction.”

“So what happened? But you gave $2,700 to Act Blue,” said Beck.

FEC data reveals that Vivek Ramaswamy was a donor to the Democratic Party in the 2016 primary, evidenced by his $2,700 ActBlue donation to Friends of Dena campaign group on March 29th, 2016. This group is associated with Democratic Party congressional candidate Dena Minning Grayson.

GOP Presidential candidate Hirsh Singh has presented evidence which indicates that Never-Trumper Grayson is an insider in the same world. This was established by a video linked from Inquisitr’s website, where Grayson was seen lip-synching an answer simultaneously with Cohen.

Additionally, her own tweets and now deleted posts on have served to corroborate this finding. Republican voters who have been made aware of Vivek Ramswamy’s donation to her are shocked that they were led to believe he represented their values.

Dena Minning Grayson posted a video in 2019 of Michael Cohen’s hearing, who was formerly the attorney for President Donald Trump.

Glenn Beck questioned the $2,700 donation Ramaswamy had made to ActBlue, a fundraising platform for Democratic candidates.

In response, Ramaswamy clarified that he was invited to the fundraiser by a friend of a friend; they had informed him that there was a doctor in the biotech industry running for Congress.

“I had no idea who this individual was. She’s in the biotech industry, and I’m a biotech CEO.” Ramaswamy said.

“I showed up, stayed as long as minimal time as I could, but that was the entry ticket to go in. I frankly regret doing it just because it raised so many questions afterwards. I wasn’t plotting to be a politician back then. But the fact of the matter is, if you’re a CEO, you get dragged around a lot of fundraisers in New York City. That was when I got dragged into and the ticket price is one that I wrote to get in,” he added.

“I couldn’t even tell you the name of the person who it was,” Vivek told Beck.

Tricia McLaughlin, Senior Advisor to Vivek Ramaswamy, clarified in an email to The Gateway Pundit that the donation given to Dena Minning Grayson was solely due to their friendship and not a political endorsement.

“Dena was a friend of Vivek,” McLaughlin said.

    Look this Ramaswamy like DeSantis is just another in the political clown show of preset contenders in a rigged system!

    One Question need only be answered to wash away all of this noise and BS! Who out of any of these clowns actually has what it takes and proved it already; so by default can turn around the giant sinking ship the “USS United States of America?”

    Simple to me; as it’s obviously the one guy they are fighting so hard to destroy that isn’t a clown like the rest and who proved he could “Make America Great Again,” but instead we now see how many in the government or “who want to be on the inside,” can mess it up and even destroy it!

    I don’t trust any of these candidates to make right what is being destroyed by a massive “Deep State Corrupt Machine,” except this one very special and most unusual man; Trump!

      Your evaluation is great! How could Ramaswamy be trusted — if he could give $2,700 to someone about whom he knew nothing — not to mention a politician!!!
      Donald Trump proved himself to be an outsider who could make some dramatic, beneficial changes — for the good of America. We need him again — now, at least to be re-elected in 2024!!!!

    As a CEO, he had an obvious reply; which he wasn’t quick enough to think of: when in business, you donate to both parties. That way, you have the possibility of influence no matter who wins.

    In the very first debate in 2015, the other GOP debaters made that argument against then Candidate Trump. He simply made that point, and it was, and is, irrefutable.

    How Vivek wouldn’t have the brains to figure something so EASY out, what would he do if he were confronted with something DIFFICULT?

    QUESTION: If America were truly a Christian nation, how is possible that a self-proclaimed Hindu can even run for America’s highest political office or, for that, matter any political office at any level of government?

    ANSWER: Because America is no longer a Christian nation established upon the Bible’s immutable moral law, beginning with the First Commandment and its statutes and civil judgment.

      He cannot so this proves that many of our elected officials and other government employees with authority have been “bastardising” our Constitution and Bill of Rights or in essence “what it means to be an American!”
      This is why we now have many ingrate foreigners in our country some of them legal and many “illegal invaders” that think they can make this Land whatever they want it to be; so that is not taking an “oath of allegiance” to be “an American” who will uphold the US Constitution; which any of my ancestors had done when they came here and they lived up to that obligation always, even when it came to serving in the military in peacetime and war!
      Now just a minute example of this destruction from within we see recently in the news how some Muslim woman who was copping an attitude telling off an employee in a grocery store about her American Flag Lapel Pin; basically showing total arrogance, lack of appreciation and blatant disrespect to our Nation, the employee, along with “We the People!”

      “It is heartbreaking to see immigrants coming to our great nation and not appreciating the freedoms and opportunities that we provide. What is even worse, some immigrants come here and disrespect the country that welcomed them in such a gracious way. This was recently seen in a grocery store in California when an Iraqi woman, wearing a burka, confronted a cashier about their American flag lapel pin.

      The cashier proudly stated that they would always wear it; however, this did not seem to satisfy the immigrant woman as she proceeded to ask when the U.S. would stop bombing her countrymen.     This all proves one thing! There has never been nor will there ever be any man-made system of governance that is perfect and will function without fault or eventual failure, under all conditions at all times! Mankind is doomed to utter defeat and failure which can only be rectified when the immortal soul is judged worthy to pass from this dichotomy into everlasting paradise through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ the Son of God Almighty!

    But America has had a good run, of the best “experiment” ever conducted; to try and achieve a high quality government system “of, by and for the people!”

    This is one heck of an experiment and it’s been wonderful to have the opportunity to be a part of it; but my sadness pokes through to point out how failure is relentlessly on our heels and like Ronald Reagan said; only a generation away!
